Amethyst

Amethyst is the violet quartz people have kept since antiquity. Its name comes from ancient Greek, “not intoxicated”: it was made into cups, in the belief that it kept drunkenness away. Since then it has been linked with calm, more restful sleep, intuition and a clear mind, and people like to keep it by the bed or wear it close to the heart.

These are traditions, told as such, and each person lives them in their own way. Whether you believe in them or simply love the color, you will find jewelry, pendulums, clusters and pieces to set down at home.

No two amethysts are alike: the shade runs from almost colorless to deep violet. It fades in direct sunlight, so avoid a south-facing windowsill.
