Cut from a vein of fibrous gypsum, selenite carries light from one end of the piece to the other like mineral silk.

Symbolic reading. Tradition makes it a stone of clarity and cleansing — it is the one traditionally used to rest other minerals on.
The symbol. The seven energy centers of the Indian tradition, from the base of the spine to the crown of the head, are each associated with a color.
