Polished point — Rainbow moonstone

Cut to a faceted point and then polished along its full height, it stands the material upright.

A translucent base across which blue, peach and lilac glints slide depending on the angle of the light.

What tradition says. Tradition credits it with an influence of gentleness and openness to the unexpected.

Use & care. On a console, a desk or an altar tray, it structures the space and draws the eye. Many set it point upward, but nothing requires an orientation. A soft dry cloth is enough; avoid household products on the polished faces.

• It is in fact a white labradorite, and not a true moonstone in the gemmological sense.
