A hand-hammered and engraved bowl, supplied with its mallet and cushion; the hammering gives the metal its tone and its long tail of sound.
The symbol. Green Tara is, in Tibetan Buddhism, the figure of swift action and compassion in movement.
Use & care. Rub the rim slowly with the mallet to bring the note up, or strike the wall gently for a clean tone. A bowl held flat on the palm rings longer. Do not fill with water if the bowl is engraved; wipe fingerprints with a dry cloth.
